A number of bins at the Taylor Bay Waste Compound were found to contain asbestos, says Murrindindi Shire Council
An asbestos removalist has since come and removed the hazardous material.
“We would like to thank the community for alerting us to the important matter. We would also like to remind the community that illegal dumping of asbestos can pose genuine health risks and can also incur substantial penalties,” a Council spokesman said.
