Police appeal to Christmas Hills residents to check yards


Police are asking residents in the Christmas Hills and surrounding areas to check their backyards and any structures or sheds on their properties, following tyhe disappearance of 58-year-old man John Forster.

The Diamond Creek man was last seen at his James Cook Drive address about 10am on Saturday.

Police have since located his green Subaru Forrester station wagon at Sugarloaf Reservoir about 11pm on Saturday 7 October.

Investigators are also asking anyone who may have been in the area surrounding Sugarloaf Reservoir Reserve on Saturday, and who may have seen a man matching John’s description, to contact police.

Search and Rescue members, Water Police, the police helicopter and State Emergency Service members have searched the reservoir and surrounding Christmas Hills area in an effort to locate John.

John is described as being about 180cm tall, with a slim build and shaved grey/dark short hair.

It’s not known what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

Anyone who sights John or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Eltham Police Station on 9430 4500.
