The second round of the Yea Golf Club Men’s Championships was held on Saturday and in all three grades the result is still in doubt. In A-Grade, Gary Pollard now holds a one-shot lead over Brian Simmons; Greg Clements leads B-Grade by five shots from Jonathan Fisher; and in C-Grade Malcom Bett leads Terry Chaplin by three shots. Greg is the leader in the handicap section with 143 from Malcolm on 144 and Carlo Maffei on 145.
Saturday’s winner was Cal Maffei with an excellent nett 69 from his handicap of 26. Carl won on countback from Greg Clements.
In the grades Rick Wills won A-Grade with nett 73. Greg took out B Grade, and Carl the C- Grade. Jonathan Fisher won the daily putting and no one was nearest the pin on the 11th.

Wednesday golf saw 12 men contest both 4 Ball and Individual Par on a mostly sunny day. The course is in excellent condition with plenty of roll on the fairways.
Winner of the individual event was Carl Maffei with a score of -1 , with Gary Pollard second on CB from Peter Williams third with a -2.
Bob Glenister knocked off NTP on the 11th with his second shot. His first hit the racecourse rail and had to be replayed. Rob O’Halloran won the Club Award.
In the 4 Ball, Gary and Rob combined somehow to win with +5, with Michael Spagnolo and Carl Maffei second with +4.
Good to see Graeme Bryant and Allan Thatcher coming back to golf.
