A man has died in hospital following a crash in Kilmore last week.

Investigators believe an 84-year-old man was driving along Foote Street when his car struck the rear of a stationary garbage truck about 9.30am on Wednesday, November 15.

The Kilmore man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital but died the following day.

No one else was injured as a result of the incident.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
