A woman has died in hospital following a three car crash in Coldstream earlier this month.

Investigators believe an east bound car was waiting to turn right from the Maroondah Highway into a driveway when it was struck from behind by a Suzuki Alto about 2.30pm on November 5.

The impact shunted the car forward causing it to collide with an oncoming vehicle.

A 79-year-old woman Croydon North, who was a passenger in the Suzuki was taken to hospital and sadly died yesterday (November 27).

The driver of the Suzuki, an 82-year-old Croydon North man, was taken to hospital minor injuries.

Two other people were taken hospital as a precaution.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
