A-Grade
Saturday saw Yea away against fellow top four side Avenel in the first day of a two-day match. On a scorching afternoon Yea was happy to win the toss and elect to bat first on a good pitch.
After losing an early wicket Yea built steadily and through some excellent batting from Corey Malcolm(36) and Matt Lockhart(30) put themselves into a position of ascendancy mid-way through the day. The Tigers made it into the 80s for the loss of just two wickets, and runs were beginning to flow freely for Malcolm and Lockhart.
However just as Yea looked to assert themselves on the contest they suffered a batting collapse, with no other batsmen able to make a significant contribution Yea were bowled out for 124. With an hour to bowl at Avenel before stumps
The Tigers were in the hunt for a few quick wickets before the close of play. It Started well as Chisholm struck in the third over. However, this is where the good news ended, as some bowling that was too short in length enabled Avenel to reach stumps 1/53.
Next weekend Yea will need to strike early to give themselves a chance of defending their total and getting back on the winners list.

B-Grade
B-grade hosted Kilmore this week in what was a disappointing game for the Tigers. Yea batted first but lost early wickets and struggled to put together a partnership.
Will Dalton top scored for the Tigers with 19, several batsman got starts for the Tigers but couldn’t keep going.
Yea was bowled out for 98. Kilmore made light work of the run chase. Making Yea’s runs only one wicket down coming of the bowling of Dalton. Next week the Tigers will be looking to bounce back against Pyalong at home.
