Kinglake’s Kate Chalmers is top Junior Citizen

Kate Chalmers was named Murrindindi Shire Young Citizen of the Year on Friday (Australia Day).
A Shire news release said:
Kate is a strong leader amongst her peers in the Kinglake Ranges. She is passionate about music and drama, and has a warm and gentle demeanour that makes her easy to get along with.
Her leadership journey began at Ellimatta Youth evolving from a member of The Steer leadership group to taking on the role of youth facilitator. She has since shown her commitment and dedication as secretary of the Ellimatta Youth Committee of Management.
Kate has spent many hours doing outreach in the Kinglake area, consulting with youth and student councils and advocating for support to relevant programs.
Kate has also been a part of the Youth Art Show, Kinglake Fun Run, Festival Amongst the Falls and The Mad Billy Kart Derby, to name just a few.
