The 2018 season for the AFL Yarra Ranges Football-Netball League will kick off on Saturday, April 21.
Alexandra will commence with a home game hosting Yea, with the Rebels travelling to Yarra Glen in round 2 on Saturday, April 28, before travelling to Powelltown in round 3 on Saturday, May 5.
The Alexandra Football-Netball Club has previously announced the appointment of the following coaches for the 2018 season with Sam Kidd re-appointed as senior coach, joined by Scott Whitehead as reserves coach, assisted by Jason Krijt and Scott Ferrier as under 18s coach.
In netball, A and B grades will be coached by Michelle Jack, assisted by Jess Lucas, C grade by Maggie Hamill, with Jo Steel to coach D grade.
Alexandra’s football pre-season continues for all open age players at 6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays at Rebel Park. Pre-season training for all open age netball players commences at 6 pm on Thursday, February 8 at Rebel Park. The Club and coaches are pleased to welcome all past players, football and netball, and anyone that would like to come along and join in, everyone is very welcome. In junior football, the Club has re-appointed John Tossol to coach the under 16s, Stuart Coller to coach the under 12s assisted by Brad Kidd, and Derrick Meggitt with the under 10s to be coached by Dan Crane. The under 14s football coach is to be confirmed.
In junior netball, the League has passed a motion at the League AGM and the netball age groups for the upcoming 2018 season have changed to 17 and under, 15 and under, 13 and under, 11 and under.
The Alexandra Football-Netball Club is now seeking expressions of interest for the following junior coaching positions in 2018 – under 14 football and 17 and under, 15 and under, 13 and under, 11 and under netball competing on Sundays in the Seymour District Junior Football Netball League. The Seymour District Junior Football/Netball League will meet on Wednesday, February 7 to discuss the 2018 fixture and other matters. All 2017 players are invited to re-register through the SportsTG system for football and the VNA system for netball.
