Grant for Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Festival


Kinglake’s Foggy Mountain Bluegrass Music Festival is about to sound even sweeter with funds flowing today from the Andrews Labor Government.

Jaala Pulford, Minister for Regional Development, visited Kinglake today to announce a $10,000 grant for the popular festival, which is a be a celebration of community, music and family.

The 2018 festival will welcome music lovers of all ages to the picturesque Kinglake Ranges from Friday October 12 to Sunday October 14 for a weekend of great atmosphere, country hospitality and performances.

A news release said: The fifth Foggy Mountain Music Festival will offer a range of events and activities, including a bush dance, free community events, ticketed events and six music workshops.

The festival will also feature local school children performing a work they have developed collaboratively, and the special gospel concert held on Sunday morning.

The annual event supports local artists, increases community engagement and promotes the region – boosting tourism, economic development and local jobs.

The $10,000 grant is being provided through the Labor Government’s Stronger Regional Communities Plan, which supports economic growth and helps build more resilient regional communities.

“This Foggy Mountain Music Festival brings the Kinglake Ranges community together and promotes the area as a tourism and cultural destination of choice,” said Ms Pulford.

“The festival is a great opportunity to showcase local talent, boost local businesses and support local jobs.”
