• Saturday saw Yea travel to Seymour to take on Eastern Hill in their A-Grade clash.

  Eastern Hill took to the batting crease first, but it was Yea doing all the damage early on reducing the hosts to 3/4 within the first few overs, with Corey Malcolm taking two of those wickets.

  However, it was the introduction of Cam Armstrong to the attack that really put the Tigers on top, with an outstanding spell of 5/12 from 9 overs to shred through the Eastern Hill middle order and move the score to 8/38.

  Some late order hitting scraped the score up to 64 before they were dismissed. With a small total on the board, Eastern Hill knew that early wickets were vital, and that is exactly what they got.

  Yea was quickly reduced to 3/3 and never truly recovered, suffering from some poor shot selection in the face of disciplined bowling.   Opener Ben Tarran was the only batsman to make any meaningful contribution, batting through the innings for 16 n.o., as Yea was bowled out for a dismal 41, losing by 23 runs.

  Next weekend Yea will host Tallarook, and will be out to make amends for a sub-standard performance last weekend.

• Last Saturday Yea took on the reigning premiers Pyalong. Pyalong won the toss and decided to bat first.

  Riley Aldous opened the bowling and was terrific from the start, bowling with great pace and accuracy throughout his 7 overs.

  Riley was well supported by Dylan Jannke and Benny Holman.  Holman bowled 9 overs straight and it was very hard for Pyalong to score.

  Highlight of the day definitely goes to Derek Troy-West who took an absolute one handed screamer at second slip.

  Unfortunately Yea dropped five catches in the field which led to Pyalong compiling a total of 215.

  Unfortunately for the second week in a row the batting line up failed, getting dismissed for a team total of 33.
