Wednesday, October 31, 2018
In the lead-up to the November 24 State Election, Labor candidates today (Wed.) had promises for Yea and Kinglake.
Northern Victoria MLC Jaclyn Symes and Eildon Labor candidate Sally Brennan were in Yea this morning to announce a $234,000 project at the Yea Recreation Reserve.
The project will allow for female-friendly change rooms to benefit the Yea Football-Netball Club, junior football teams and cricket club. Modern accessible unisex, change rooms from home and away teams will be provided.
Today’s announcements also include:
• Ghin Ghin Rd safety improvement, including safety barriers on the existing bridges/major culverts, sealing one road entry and reconstruction of a 700m section of failed road pavement,
• Jorgensen Pde (Kinglake West) vehicle access improvement which will see an extension of the sealed section of upgrading of the sealed pavement to allow for higher use and regular steel delivery to a modular manufacturing firm, and
• High St Yea traffic management review to address parking impacts and traffic circulation.
The Andrews Labor Government will also provide an app to manage a fleet of community vehicles to be securely booked and equipped with routing equipment. The vehicles will be used by “transport disadvantaged”. Ms Brennan said the overall scheme makes it easier for people to attend appointments and access public transport services.
