Cindy McLeish

7PM CALL: McLeish tipped to win, says Weekly Times


Liberal incumbent Cindy McLeish is expected to win a third term in parliament as the MP for Eildon, according to the Weekly Times.

The Eildon count – with just 3.91 per cent counted as at 7pm – showed a majority for Ms McLeish, said the rural weekly newspaPER.

Sally Brennan — Australian Labor Party – 617

Michelle Dunscombe — Independent — 158

Ken Deacon — Australian Greens — 135

Cindy McLeish — Liberal — 758

“Ms McLeish, who was elected in 2006 is paying $1.50 to Labor candidate Sally Brennan’s $3. Eildon stretches from the fringes of the metropolitan area to the heart of the Victorian Alps,” SAID tHE wEEKLY tIMES.

At the 2014 election, Ms McLeish won with 43 per cent of the primary vote and 53.8 per cent of the two-party vote.
