Members of the Molesworth Social Club gathered at the Yea Races on Saturday (Nov. 17) for a fun gathering. The club gathered for a group photo for The Local Paper. More photos in Wednesday’s issue.
One of Yea’s favourite citizens, Val Borrie, was able to inspect her own portrait at the Yea Camera Club’s show which opened at the Y Water Discovery Centre on Saturday afternoon. Club President Kerry Gouldthorpe offered a warm welcome to all guests at the opening.
Ahead of tonight’s installation of Piers Jackson as Master of Mansfield Lodge, Ian Ribbons and Chris Jackson were making preparations for the banquet to be attended by approximately 70 people.
Adopting a Christmas theme at the monthly Yarck Market were mother-and-daughter team Pat Coller and Sue Savage. The Yarck Market is held on the third Saturday of the month.

Syd Karimi has taken over postal services at Buxton. The signage and red postal box have been installed at his Shell Service Station, and the new post office shopfitting was being finalised at the weekend. Stocks of The Local Paper will now be available each week at the 2093 Maroondah Hwy address. • ODD SPOT:
A Shorten Labor Government will deliver $750,000 in funding towards the revitalisation of the Kinglake community, transforming the face of the town in the lead up to the 10-year anniversary of the 2009 bushfires. A statement was issued today (Thurs.) by Mr Shorten on his visit to the Mountain, accompanied by McEwen MHR Rob Mitchell.
Meralyn Klein is no longer the Liberal Yan Yean candidate for the November 24 State Election after making controversial comments about the Bourke St terror attack. A Liberal Party source said that Meralyn Klein had resigned, while another local said she had been disendorsed, The Age reports. Media outlets have described as comments as anti-Muslim.
