St Luke's Anglican Church, Yea, circa 1968

77-year-old Yea memory linked to gift

In the World War II years of 1941 and 1942, the boys from Ivanhoe Grammar School evacuated to Yea.

‘Beaufort House’ became their home, their classrooms included the Yea Recreation Reserve grandstand, and their Sunday worship was at ‘St Luke’s Church of England’.

The Church, currently celebrating its 150th anniversary year, is looking to rise $560,000 for restoration works.

One of the donations using the ‘150’ theme has been from the Ivanhoe Grammarians Lodge, part of Freemasons Victoria.
