Local traffic chaos is predicted as Yan Yean Rd, Plenty, closes in both directions for works at the Diamond Creek Rd intersection, starting 6am Thursday Jan. 3).

Both Yan Yean Road and Aqueduct Road will be closed until Thursday, January 24. Diamond Creek Rd will remain open during this time, with one lane running in each direction.

During the works, VicRoads suggest sdrivers use Diamond Creek Rd, the Greensborough Bypass, M80 Ring Road, Plenty Rd and Gorge Rd instead.

VicRoads saysnit will be closely monitoring conditions using real-time detectors and traffic cameras along the detour, and will tweak traffic signals as needed to minimise delays.

These works have been planned for a time when the road network is at its most quiet, however drivers will need to allow an extra 15 minutes for the detour route.
