Man, 20, dies after accident

A 20-year-old man has died in hospital after the car he was travelling in struck a tree near Mansfield on Friday night.
The white Holden Commodore was travelling along the Midland Highway when it left the road and struck a tree shortly before 9.30pm.
The driver, from Wangaratta, was taken to hospital however died last night.
His 24-year-old male passenger, also from Wangaratta, remains in hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the crash will be investigated.

Vic Emergency advises (9.58pm Friday) that two emergency units are attending a ‘road rescue trap’ incident, north of Mansfield township, on the Miodland Hwy.
The accident scene is reportedly between Long Lane and Dueran Lane.
Earlier in the evening, Crime Watch Victoria reported a “car vs tree” incident at Ambulance Victoria & Victoria Police have been alerted to a report of a motor vehicle on the Goulburn Valley Hwy, near Grant St, in Alexandra.
