3.28PM THURS. UPDATE: The Maroondah Hwy has just re-opened, says vic Roads.

EARLIER: Ambulance Victoria, Fire, Rescue Services and Victoria Police have been alerted to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Maroondah Highway between Narbethong and Healesville, advises Crime Watch Victoria.

“Initial reports state the possibility that there may be one or more persons currently trapped,” the website says.

At 1.35pm today (Thurs.), VicRoads said: “

The Maroondah Highway is closed through the ‘Black Spur’, between Healesville and Narbethong, due to a collision. 

“Drivers need to plan ahead and allow extra time, and consider delaying their journey, if possible. There is a significant detour in place, through Yarra Junction, Warburton and Marysville. 

“This closure is under Victoria Police control. The road will reopen when investigations are complete and it’s safe to do so.”
