A grass and scrub fire at Silver Creek Rd, Flowerdale, this afternoon (Sunday) is now under control.

The fire was reported at about 3.30pm, after smoke was reported by a fire tower observer.

Peter Rice from UGFM says that 10 CFA transfer responded, and helicopter crews were advised. Forest Fire Management (DELWP) responded.

The fire was burning up hill into forested country.

People in the area have been asked to monitor conditions.
