Friday’s weather and fire danger conditions will be very similar to Black Saturday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Five emergency units attended a building fire at Simpson Rd, Christmas Hills on Wednesday night. It was reported as under control by 8.45pm, more than an hour after the first report.
More than $8000 in prizes are on offer at the Yea rotary Art and Craft Show that opens tonight at 7.30pm at the Yea Shire Hall. The Show is also open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday over the long weekend.

Now the weather for Thursday. Top temperatures are 39 are expected at Alexandra, Eltham and Yea, 38 at Heaolesville and Whittlesea, and 36 at Kinglake and Marysville. On Friday, maximum temperatures of 42 could be registered at Alex., Eltham and Yea – with 45 degrees predicted nearby.
