‘Fire Ready’ meetings at Alex.
Thursday, January 24, 2019
Alexandra Fire Brigade is urging the community to be prepared as forest and farmland across Murrindindi has dried and the weather predictions are for hot, dry days with some periods of high winds.
“Being prepared means understanding your risks, preparing your property to minimise the impact of fire and having plans to leave early or stay and actively defend,” says Alex Caughey, Community Engagement Officer
To assist in understanding risk and developing plans CFA offers Fire Ready community meetings.
“We need to prepare our fire plans and be prepared to activate them” said Alexandra Captain Jay Williams. “ Attending one of our FRV meetings will help you to be prepared.”
Alexandra Fire Brigade will be hosting two meetings, one on Wednesday January 30 at the corner of Halls Flat Rd and Coller Court at 6.30 pm; and another on Thursday January 31 at the corner of U T Creek Road and McIntyres Lane at 6.30 pm.
