Rotarian Don Jago honoured

A man, with strong links to Rotary clubs in Alexandra and Yea, is being listed in the Australia Day honours.
Don Jago, of Hawthorn East, receives an OAM honour “for service to the community”.
Donald George Jago has been a Rotarian since 1990, and was President of the Rotary Club of Camberwell in 1996-67. He has given ongoing encouragement to both clubs with their Art Show over a number of decades.
Don Jago was District Governor of 9800 in 2003-04, was Foundation Chair of his District’s Rotary Foundation in 2004-06, and a representative on Rotary’s international Council of Legislation in 2010 and 2013.
His other Rotary roles include being Co-Ordinator of the Regional Foundation in 2006-09; District Chair of ‘End polio Now’ in 2009-17; District Director of Community Service for 1999-2000; and involvement with ‘Donations In Kind’ since 2000.
Mr Jago’s other community service includes his Chairmanship of the Boroondara Cares Foundation from 2007-13, and a volunteer for the Royce and Jean Abbey Vocational Scholarship Program from 2010-18.
