3 occupants escaped from a Helitak crash

Woods Point and Reefton CFA crews rushed to the Mt Gregory area on Monday night after an aircraft, reportedly the Helitak 341 water bomber, went down. The crew escaped from the aircraft, and were transported to a medical facility.

A Thornton man suffered burns to his face and hands when cooking with oil at his Goulburn Valley Highway home on Monday night. Fire and ambulance crews attended.

The Yea District Historical Society is in a race against time to raise the $300,000 needed to purchase Yea’s iconic Carter’s Milk Bar by April 2. President John Bett is in charge of the fund raising.

Emergency Victoria says that a fire at Yarra Glen fire is regarded as safe. The fire was near the Healesville-Yarra Glen Road, near Tarrawarra.

Holiday traffic returning to Melbourne on Melba Hwy was held up near the Chocolatiere centre at Old Healesville Rd, Yarra Glen, after a road accident.
