Molesworth fireworks create ire

Fireworks conducted tonight (Sat.) at Molesworth have created ire amongst local residents. The fireworks organisers, apparently associated with the Seventh-Day Adventist conference, had successfully applied for a permit to conduct the display using devices containing gunpowder and other combustible chemicals which causes explosions when ignited. Local residents were sensitive to the fireworks, given that yesterday (Fri.)

Electricity off at Glenburn

UPDATE: There is a tree down across Melba Hwy, south of Glenburn, near the West Bridge Rd intersection. There are 69 properties in Glenburn without electricity, as at 7.25pm Friday (Jan. 4). Estimated restore time, according to Ausnet, is 9:30pm

Credit Card fraud: charges laid

Police have charged a woman who allegedly used a stolen credit card in Seymour on December 12, according to a Victoria Police news release.   The 25-year-old woman from Craigieburn has been charged with a number of deception and theft offences.   The woman has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on

Bureau forecasts top of 44° at Seymour

The official Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Seymour (which also applies for Alexandra township) is for a maximum of 44° on Friday (Jan. 4).   Weather.com predicts a high of 41° at Yea, 38° at Kinglake, 32° at Lake Mountain, 41° at Whittlesea.   Cooler weather, with rain, is predicted for Saturday (Jan. 5).
