Fond memories of Bill
Friday, February 1, 2019
Along with lots of others, I enjoyed the best of times with this man. It is 10 years ago since Bill Morris (and Cathy) passed, writes Local Paper editor Ash Long.
The Mayor of Molesworth, unique publican of the “Labour In Vein” hotel – ‘Molo’, owner of a wicked sense of humour, community volunteer, family man and friend. At 7.15pm he would utter: “Haven’t you got a home to go to?”
What an honour to have known this man and his family.
(Bill’s funeral service was held at Sacred Heart, Yea, in the week after the Black Saturday fires. Many of his mates could not go to the Funeral Mass, because they were still on volunteer fire duty.)
I took this favourite photo of Bill at the Yea Saleyards.
