Radio-TV star Rex Hunt crashed his vehicle using back road between Alexandra and Yea on Thursday night (Jan. 31).
Sunday Herald Sun journalist Fiona Byrne said that Hunt, who appears on 3AW’s Footy Nightline, crashed his car over an embankment and his vehicle ended up nose diving into a creek while trying to avoid a kangaroo.
Byrne wrote: “A shaken and sore Hunt, 69, was driving on a back road from Alexandra to Yea on Thursday night after a day’s fishing, when he came around a turn near Molesworth in central Victoria at 9.15pm and was confronted by the roo.
“Rex Hunt said his life flashed before his eyes.
“My life flashed before my very eyes,” Hunt said yesterday.
“She was crouched and suddenly she stood up and she was huge.
“I swerved to miss her, ended up in the gravel, went up over the embankment and we went nose first into the creek bed.
“The airbags went off and burnt my arm, but anyhow we are alive.”
Local police and ambulance attended the scene.
