VicRoads have this morning (Fri.) issued a statement about the closure of the Black Spur following a serious accident:

The Maroondah Highway is closed through the ‘Black Spur’, between Healesville and Narbethong, following a serious collision. 

Drivers need to plan ahead and allow extra time, and consider delaying their journey, if possible. Alternative routes around the closure are lengthy and may be impacted by the severe weather. 

Detours include the Warburton Highway and Woods Point Road through Marysville and Warburton, or via the Melba and Goulburn Valley highways through Yea and Alexandra. 

This closure is under Victoria Police control. The Maroondah Highway will re-open when investigations are complete and it’s safe to do so. 

VicRoads crews are assisting emergency services with traffic management.
