Problems at Black Spur

Traffic has been reduced to one-lane on the Maroondah Hwy this morning at Dom Dom Saddle, Healesville-bound, after a semi-trailer left the roadway. Rainy weather has made road conditions difficult throughout the region. The highway is expected to be closed in both directions when recovery of the truck takes place today (Fri.).

IBAC probes local govt corruption claims

IBAC, the state’s independent anti-corruption body, will hold public hearings next month into allegations of serious corrupt conduct in relation to planning and property development decisions, and other forms of procurement, at the Casey City Council. Healy must pay $35,000 costs, $7500 fine

Former Murrindindi Shire Councillor Chris Healy was today (Mon.) ordered to pat $35,000 costs and $7500 fine after four charges prsoecuted by the Local Government Inspectorate were found proven. Mr Healy appealed the Magistrates’ Court decision, and the penalties were today issued by Judge Higham. Mr Healy will not be convicted.
