Kinglake Country Fair postponed
Saturday, March 14, 2020
The Kinglake Country Fair, scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 22, has been postponed.
“Despite our hopes, due to the Federal Government’s decision to cancel public gatherings of more than 500 people, we are obliged to postpone the Kinglake Country Fair,” organisers told supporters at the weekend.
“Never fear, we’ll be back in Spring! It is the right move to respect the sensitive health issue at present by postponing until further notice.
“We understand that everyone has been so excited for March 22, but the health and wellbeing of the public and everyone involved is most important.
“We are yet to pick a new date, but hope that you can be a part of the Fair later this year and continue to stay in touch with us so that we can all have a wonderful day.
“We will be contacting all stall holders, food vendors, businesses, and sponsors in due course to make alternative arrangements. We appreciate your patience in this situation,” the Committee statement said.
Craig Lloyd, Chief Executive Officer of Murrindindi Shire Council, said: “This is a sad decision given the enormous amount of work the Committee and volunteers have put in, but the right decision based on the Government’s latest advice.”
