Mernda police are appealing for public assistance following a two-car collision in Doreen on Thursday night (Mar. 26).

Police have been told taht a grey Toyota RAV4 was travelling north on Yan Yean Rd, between Bridge Inn Rd and Cookes Rd, when it was hit by a south bound car about 6.45pm.

The driver of the unknown car, believed to be a white sedan, failed to stop and fled down Yan Yean Rd before turning right onto Bridge Inn Rd.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured during the collision.

Police are keen to speak with anyone who has dash-cam footage or who has seen a damaged white sedan in the area.
