Residents have delivered petition containing 599 signatures to Moonee Valley Council, requesting the former sales office located at 45 Valley Lake Boulevard, Keilor East be developed for a community use.

The sales office located at 45 Valley Lake Boulevard was built in 2006 to assist with the sales of various stages within the Valley Lake Estate.

Mayor Cr Samantha Byrne wrote to Ben Carroll, MLA or Niddrie, in January outlining the concerns of local residents and seeking his support to have the land turned over to the community.

The matter is due to go before Moonee Valley Council this week.

“Development Victoria may sell the land at their own discretion – Council cannot direct the land to be sold to an individual who will convert the space into a café, or otherwise,” said a report to Councillors.
