Buses will replace trains on the Mernda line between Reservoir and Epping, after a person was hit near Thomastown.

The Department of Transport asks passengers to check station platform displays and listen for announcements, and to allow extra time for their journey.

Emergency services are on the way to the scene. Authorised Officers will assist passengers, including those on two trains that are stopped in the area.

The line will re-open and services will resume when Victoria Police investigations are complete.

Motorists are asked to be vigilant for extra pedestrians and buses around train stations on the Mernda line.

The signals team will monitor conditions and tweak traffic lights to assist with bus movements.
