MARIBYRNONG: Police car rammed, 4 charged


Police from Footscray have charged four youths following an alleged police vehicle ramming in Braybrook on Wednesday, July 22.

The four males were arrested after the stolen vehicle they were driving allegedly rammed a police vehicle in Treloar Crescent about 5.20pm.

Police approached the vehicle however the driver drove at the police vehicle a second time causing significant damage to the vehicle.

All four were arrested by police at the scene and have since been charged with the following.

An 18-year-old Derrimut man has been charged with:
• Theft of motor vehicle;
• Robbery;
• Assault;
• Handle Stolen Goods x 2

The 17-year-old Sunshine West teenager has been charged with:
• Robbery;
• Theft of motor vehicle x 2;
• Assault;
• Attempted Car Jacking
• Intentionally Cause Injury and Affray
• Handle Stolen Goods x 2

The 16-year-old Kings Park teenager has been charged with :
• Robbery;
• Theft of motor vehicle;
• Assault;

A 15-year-old Tarneit teen has been charged with:
• Theft of motor vehicle;
• Theft of petrol;
• Attempted car-jacking;
• Robbery
• Theft; and
• Assault

The 18-year-old man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

The remaining three teens were remanded and will appear at a Children’s’ Court.
