MOONEE VALLEY: Taxi rammed, man arrested
Saturday, August 15, 2020
Police are investigating the alleged deliberate ramming of a taxi in Flemington on Monday last week (August 10).
It is alleged a taxi arrived at an address on Nairn Ave, Ascot Vale just before 12 Noon to pick up two male passengers.
The two passengers got out of the taxi in North Melbourne and approached three males standing beside a silver Audi.
The taxi driver began to drive away but was followed by one of the males in the Audi.
The Audi collided with the rear of the taxi causing the cab driver to lose control and mount a kerb.
The offender continued to follow the taxi through North Melbourne into Flemington and collided with the vehicle three-four more times by sideswiping it.
The taxi driver, who was not injured, pulled over on Mt Alexander Rd where he flagged down Police.
Investigators arrested a 24-year-old Ascot Vale man who has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries.
