MITCHELL: Temporary pause for ‘Review’
Thursday, August 20, 2020
It happens to the best of us! The North Central Review newspaper, published by the Mott family in Wallan-Kilmore-Broadford-Seymour, is pausing publication of that newspaper next week (only).
The temporary pause also applies to their Whittlesea Review and (Romsey-Lancefield) Free Press titles. We know how much regret this short pause would cause to their owners and staff. The Motts have been proudly producing newspapers for 5-6 generations. That is quite a tradition.
We take no pleasure, we have no glee, in recording the effects of COVID-19 on regional media. Urgent government assistance in needed to enable regional media to survive.
In the meantime, our ‘Mitchell Shire Edition’ of The Local Paper will be published as normal next week (Wed., Aug. 26), we anticipate.
If we can assist news contributors and businesses get their message out, we are happy to be of service. Phone 1800 231 311.
DISCLOSURE: Early in the COVID-19, print editions of The Local Paper were suspended temporarily. We continued to publish online. We resumed weekly printing three months ago, on May 20.
