A man at Werribee has been charged following a historical investigation into the alleged theft of donations from a church in 2015.

It is alleged the man stole donation envelopes from a church during a funeral procession.

Detectives from North West Metro Regional Crime Squad attended a Werribee address on Wednesday last week and arrested a 60-year-old man.

He has been charged with theft and was bailed to appear before Werribee Magistrates’ Court on June 8.
