Homicide Squad detectives have upgraded the charges in relation to a fatal stabbing in Ascot Vale last month.

A 27-year-old woman was initially charged with a number of offences in relation to the incident, including seriously cause injury.

Investigators have now upgraded this to a charge of one count of murder.
The woman was due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday (Feb. 8).
