MITCHELL: Changes to hours on public holiday

There are some changes to Mitchell Shire Council’s operating hours on the Australia Day Public Holiday on Wednesday, January 26.
Some services will be closed or have reduced hours, while some services remain open.
Kerbside Collection – no change
There will be no change to kerbside collection services on Wednesday. Bins will be collected as per the regular collection schedule.
Council Offices and Customer and Library Service Centres – closed
All council offices and Customer and Library Service Centres will be closed. This includes immunisation, maternal and child health, kindergartens and youth rooms.
Outdoor pools and splash park – open
The outdoor pools will be open if the forecast temperature by the Bureau of Meteorology is 26 degrees or higher.
Broadford Outdoor Pool: 12pm to 6pm
Seymour War Memorial Outdoor Pool: 12pm to 6pm
Tallarook Outdoor Pool: 2pm to 8pm
The splash park will open from 10am to 8pm, regardless of the temperature except in the case of extreme storms or high winds.
All outdoor pools have free entry.
Leisure Centres – reduced hours
Kilmore Leisure Centre and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre will both be open from 10am – 2pm.
Swimming lessons, group fitness classes and creche services will not operate on this day.
Visitor Information Centre – closed
The VIC remains closed until further notice.
Resource Recovery Centres – no change
Resource Recovery Centres will operate as normal
Broadford: 10am to 4pm
Pyalong: closed:
Seymour: closed
Wallan: 10am to 4pm

Animals, Local Laws and After Hours Emergencies – no change
Our 24/7 after hours emergency services will operate on public holidays and after hours for urgent hazards and lost or wandering animals. To access these services, please call (03) 5734 6200. For non-urgent hazards, please use our Report It online tool.
