COMMENT: Morrison Govt. breaks more promises
Wednesday, April 6, 2022
We have always been conservative publishers. It takes a lot for us to cross the floor.
The Morrison Government keeps breaking promises. It has been painfully slow in responding to flood relief in NSW and Queensland. On a smaller scale, Scottie’s Government has short-changed The Local Paper.
A Regional Publishers Fund was supposed to pay us $74,000. We did the work and paid out the money for all the agreed expenses.
Now, Scottie’s ACMA refuses to fully reimburse us.The proof that we did the work is in black-and-white. It’s in the public domain at our website.
Today, the ACMA asked for a $11,970 repayment. Fat chance of us that happening.
Mr Morrison, there’s a price to be paid by politicians who break their promises. We are crossing the floor, and taking our vote elsewhere. And we reckon that next month Australian voters will do the same.
