Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man in relation to a large series of alcohol thefts, spanning six months, across Melbourne.
It is alleged the man stole approximately $30,000 worth of high-end whiskey and scotch from bottle shops between December last year2021 and July.
The 60 separate thefts took place in 19 different suburbs including: Eltham, Malvern East, Parkdale, Endeavour Hills, Rowville, Brighton, Chelsea Heights, Preston, Dock-lands, Bundoora, Cheltenham, Karingal, Camberwell, Ascot Vale, Chadstone, Richmond, Fawkner, Berwick and South Yarra
A 52-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Bentleigh.
He wascharged with 60 counts of theft and was held over to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
