HUME: Sunbury Police Station rammed


Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 30-year-old man after he allegedly rammed his vehicle into the Sunbury Police Station about 10.25pm on Monday night (Sepo. 19).

It’s alleged the male driver followed a vehicle with two women inside, aged 19 and 20, from Sunbury Park Reserve and through surrounding streets shortly after 10pm.

The women then drove to the Sunbury Police Station to report the behaviour.

It is alleged that the man spotted the women’s vehicle in the police station car park and drove through the front doors of the station.

An off-duty police officer who witnessed the incident was allegedly assaulted while arresting the man in his car.

There were no injuries to the staff or women inside.

The Sunbury man has been charged with two counts of stalking, dangerous driving, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, reckless exposure of police officer to risk by driving, criminal damage, resist police, refuse breath test/oral fluid test and commit indictable offences while on bail.

He was remanded to appear in the Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on October 12.
