A Liberals-Nationals State Government will provide $1.5 million for Stage 1 of community sporting club facilities upgrades at Hastings Park.
Hastings Park is the sporting hub for the Hastings Football Netball Club, Hastings Women’s Football Team, Hastings Cricket Club and multiple junior teams.
Hastings Park does not have adequate fenale changerooms facilities, says Liberal candidate Briony Hutton.
Many of the teams currently use dated and portable buildings, which are not fit-for-purpose.
This commitment will see the development of dedicated changerooms for women’s and junior teams, new toilets and showers; a new club room space and equipment storage; and four weather shelters for the netball courts.
Ms Hutton said she will deliver the facilities the local sporting clubs and school communities need at Hastings Park.
“Despite a thriving local sporting community, sporting clubs at Hastings Park don’t have
changerooms for female and junior players, meaning they either arrive in their uniforms, change in their cars or use the dilapidated public toilets on site,” Ms Hutton said.
