Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad and Mill Park Divisional Response Unit charged three people following a carjacking and a non-fatal shooting in St Albans.

With the assistance from the Special Operations Group, two men and a woman were arrested at a residential property in St Albans just after 4pm Friday afternoon (Nov. 11).

A 40-year-old Lalor man was charged with attempted murder, aggravated carjacking and firearms offences.

A 23-year-old Kings Park man and a 29-year-old Kings Park woman were both charged with aggravated carjacking and firearms offences.

The trio are to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

The charges follow two separate incidents last week.

Police will allege the trio was involved in an aggravated carjacking in Lalor on Tuesday (Nov. 1).

Investigators have been told two men approached a man in his vehicle on Maguire St around 9pm and threatened him with a firearm, before the victim managed to flee the scene.

The trio followed the man in their vehicle before discharging a firearm in his direction on Blessington Pde, Lalor.

Shortly after, they approached another man sitting in his vehicle, a Skoda, in Carney St.

The trio threatened the 28-year-old Lalor man with a firearm before an altercation took place between the victim and offenders, and they fled the scene in the victim’s Skoda.

The 28-year-old Lalor man was not physically injured during the incident.

On Thursday (Nov. 3), a 28-year-old St Albans man received a gunshot wound to his upper body at a residential address in St Albans.

He made his way to a business on Main Rd East just after 9.30pm and approached a staff member for assistance

He was conveyed to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A warrant was executed at a St Albans address late last night, and police subsequently seized the stolen Skoda, two firearms, ammunition, and a stolen motorcycle.

The investigation remains ongoing.
