BRIMBANK: St Albans murder charge

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following a fatal stabbing in St Albans last week.

A 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested in Mernda.

He has been charged with murder, intentionally cause injury and bail offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

The charges follow an incident on December 30, where a man was found injured in the vicinity of St Albans Rd, between Princess and Percy Sts, about 10.50pm.

It is alleged the 32-year-old St Albans man was stabbed following an altercation with several males.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Investigators are not looking for any other persons in relation to this incident.
