Mitchell Shire Council is holding a National Tree Day event in Seymour on Sunday, July 30.
The Council has been supporting National Tree Day since 2001, planting more than 94,000 native grasses, shrubs and trees on Council land and at local schools.
The Council is developing a draft Urban Forest Strategy that aims to capture how and where people want to see trees utilised in townships and neighbourhoods throughout the Shire.
The Council recently sought feedback on what people value most about trees in their neighbourhood, where they want to see trees planted and how to protect important trees on public and private property.
