Police have arrested a 48-year-old Footscray woman following an alleged evade in Footscray early Wednesday morning (July 12).
Officers attempted to intercept a silver Nissan X-Trail on Joseph Rd, Footscray about 1am.
The Nissan drove off and the Air Wing was called in to follow the vehicle.
The car was followed by the Air Wing until the driver returned to Dynon Rd, Footscray near the Maribyrnong River.
It is alleged the woman exited the vehicle and pushed the Nissan into the river before also entering the water.
Units attended and retrieved the woman from the river. She was taken to hospital for treatment to pre-existing injuries while the Nissan came to rest against the Hopkins St Bridge.
