Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Exploitation detectives have laid historical sexual offence charges against a man located in the United States.
The 59-year-old man was arrested in New York following an extensive investigation.
He was extradited back to Australia last week and faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on morning charged with three counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual penetration of a child over 12 and under 16.
The charges relate incidents that are alleged to have occurred at St Kilda East in the 1980s.
The man has been bailed on strict conditions to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court again on September 15.
