Police are appealing for public assistance to identify the body of a man found in Coburg on Friday afternoon, Jan. 12.

Emergency services were called to a creek to discover the deceased in water near Moreland Rd, about 2.30pm.

Police have been unable to identify the man and officers are keen to speak with anyone who might have been in the area at the time.

The man was last seen wearing a light-coloured shirt, black shorts and black runners.

Police are yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and investigations remain ongoing.
