Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged stabbing in Port Melbourne.
It is alleged a man assaulted a shopkeeper with a knife in a shop on Bay St about 9.40am on Tuesday last week (Sep. 17).
The 64-year-old Port Melbourne woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at a property on Pickles St.
The Port Melbourne man was interviewed by detectives and has been charged with attempted murder.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on December 11.
