Greensborough Highway Patrol officers are investigating a hit and run at Northcote.
It is understood a vehicle collided with a cyclist on at the intersection of High St and Darebin Rd about 7pm on Wednesday, July 31.
The cyclist, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious leg and head injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, believed to be a light-coloured Toyota sedan, briefly stopped at the scene before fleeing.
The sedan was last seen driving on east along Darebin Rd towards Victoria Rd.
Investigators have released footage of the vehicle involved in the hope someone may recognise it.
Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage around the time of the incident which may assist with their enquiries.
