GLEN EIRA: Police car rammed at Bentleigh

Police have charged two men whose allegedly stolen car became bogged when they rammed police in Bentleigh on Sunday, September 15.
It is alleged offenders stole a Holden Special Vehicle Club Sport sedan from a property on Sycamore St, Caulfield South, about 4am.
Officers located the empty Club Sport and two people sitting in a second allegedly stolen car on Pascoe Avenue, Bentleigh, a short time later.
It is alleged the Holden Commodore SS station wagon accelerated and rammed into a marked police car before the stolen car became bogged.
Police forced entry to the car and deployed OC spray.
A 27-year-old Wyndham Vale man and a 22-year-old Southbank man were removed from the car and arrested at the scene.
No one was injured during the incidents.
The Southbank man was charged with 12 offences, including:
• aggravated reckless exposure of police officer to risk by driving
• damage emergency service vehicle by reckless driving
• drive in a manner dangerous
• drive whilst suspended
• theft of motor vehicle
• handle stolen goods
• possess controlled weapon
• going equipped to steal
• being disguised with unlawful intent
The Wyndham Vale man was charged with nine offences, including:
• theft of motor vehicle
• possess drugs of dependence
• handle stolen goods
• going equipped to steal
• possess controlled weapon
It is believed the Holden Commodore SS station wagon was stolen from Mount Eliza between August 27-28.
The duo were remanded to appear before the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
